Three performers
cruise the web, crashing chatrooms, flipping identities, spinning
yarns, beguiling, ensnaring unsuspecting novices, seducing each
other, pushing imagination beyond the tech spec, making a new kind
of love, mailing valentines into the void.
Partly made in
Chicago, and in collaboration with the band Angel Tech and
film-maker Lucy Baldwin, skinworks, a linked web-performance event -
marks the culmination of Bodies in Flight's exploration of cyberlove
- how new desires and moods of love emerge from sex without
bodies.
We were invited to
collaborate with Bodies in Flight, our role being to compose a
soundtrack for Skinworks and perform it live. This began as a
process of improvisation within rehearsals, reacting to the
performers (and adapting as they reacted to us), as well as to
Lucy's Baldwyn's video.
The ever-evolving show toured round England, and eventually travelled as far as Singapore and Australia.
